| NEW! XMA Chrome Competition Kamas XMA Chrome Competition Kamas
Kamas are a unique weapon that began as most martial arts weapons do: as something else. Many martial arts weapons had humble beginnings as farm tools or even as sticks. Kamas began as a tool to help farmers cut large grass. They were very much like scythes, except they were a little smaller. The necessity came for weapons when the Satsuma invaded Okinawa, and farmers found that Kamas made excellent weapons that they could practice with in private and use against their enemies.
Traditionally, one Kama is held in each hand. A thong is wrapped around each wrist and the weapon is used for defense and offense. The weapon works wonderfully against longer weapons like staffs and swords, as it has a curved blade that can trap the weapon to give the defender a bit of time to prepare an offense against their partner.
Kamas are used primarily in tournament and as a display weapon. The XMA Chrome Competition are very lightweight, making them easy to use, and are covered in a chrome vinyl which shines and is very attractive. The XMA logo is in the middle of the handle, which measures 14” long. The aluminum blades are sharpened and attractive, with the XMA cutout on the blades, making them stand out during competition.
A great accessory for these Xma kama's is the Kama Briefcase which will protect them.
